In Jonesboro, Arkansas, 21-year-old Chavis Carter was reportedly shot in the back of a police car, according to ThinkProgress.org.

Officer Keith Baggett and Officer Ron Marsh reportedly found marijuana on Carter, when he was searched.

Later, during the stop, Carter was found to have an outstanding warrant in Mississippi. He was placed in the back of the police car and his hands were cuffed.

When the police officers searched Carter's vehicle again, Officer Baggett claimed he heard “a loud thump."

Police claim that the thumping noise was Carter shooting himself in the head, even though his hands were handcuffed behind his back.

Carter’s mother, Teresa, told WREG-TV: “I think they killed him, my son wasn’t suicidal.”

She also said that Carter called his girlfriend, after he was pulled over by police and told her that he would call her from the police station. Another odd fact is that Carter was shot in his right temple, even though he was left-handed.

This article is way too short

This article is way too short on verifiable information and comes from a highly questionable source. I think I'll wait for the investigation before jumping to conclusions.

I have to wonder what caliber

I have to wonder what caliber gun this guy would have managed to hide in two searches, yet still be able to pull out while handcuffed....and then shoot himself in the wrong side of the head while cuffed...

And then the dash camera catches NOTHING? And since this guy was a passenger, what does the driver have to say about this?
