In a scene that resembled the film 'Dog Day Afternoon,' Los Angeles police chased some alleged bank robbers who threw cash from their car as they fled, reports KTLA-TV.

The four men allegedly robbed a Bank of America in Santa Clarita, around 10 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Times.

Two of the alleged robbers jumped out of the car, fled on foot and escaped.

The other two alleged robbers sped through downtown Los Angeles tossing money from their car in an apparent effort to create confusion and block the police from chasing them.

Video ((below) shot by KTLA-TV shows people running out into the streets to get as much stolen money as possible.

The wild chase ended when a crowd of people surrounded the car and it was forced to stop.
