Vermont Prison Inmate Secretly Puts Pig on Police Car Decal

A prison inmate, who makes stationery and license plates, added a tiny image of what appears to be pig onto a 16-inch decal, which is affixed to Vermont State police cars.

On the decal, there is a cow, and one of the spots on a cow there is the shape of a pig, a slur used for police, reports The Daily Mail.

Andy Pallito, the commissioner of the Department of Corrections, said officials are looking into who made the change, which was added to about 30 police cars (60 decals in total) over the past year.

According to the Times-Union, a Vermont state trooper discovered the pig while inspecting his vehicle on Wednesday.

Pallito said that new police car decals will be made by next week at a cost of $780.

State police Maj. Bill Sheets added: "While some may find humor in the decal modifications, the joke unfortunately comes at the expense of the taxpayers."

Some Vermont inmates have gotten the best of the state police by adding a pig to the state seal seen on the side of a Vermont State Police cruiser, Feb. 2, 2012 in Middlesex, Vt.

Yeah, because when budgets are getting cut left and right, replacing decals on patrol cars must be super high on the priority list.

Oh Mr. Spammer, GTFO!

If freedom means anything, it is the liberty to tell others what they do not want to hear.

Wouldn't it be more accurate if it had been done to the NYPD, in light of their behavior over the Occupy movement? Particularly since state troopers spend the vast majority of their work on traffic, rather than other LE activities.

The insanity principle is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. The far right, the far left, vegans, creationists and other extremists believe in the insanity principle, religiously.

Good thinking, but the inmate had to work with what he had. I think the meme of Lt. John Pike has accomplished much more, anyway.

If freedom means anything, it is the liberty to tell others what they do not want to hear.

I still think it's creative and funny. And I don't mean any offense to their police department or any others...but can't we lighten up a little and take a joke?

James Smith's picture

Many can take a joke but not the right wing nuts. Their confidence in their beliefs is so shaky it can't stand any disparagement, even in fun.

If freedom means anything, it is the liberty to tell others what they do not want to hear.

Now, how do you know that "right wing nuts" are responsible, and why is it necessary to start name-calling?

James Smith's picture

It isn't name-calling if it's true. Are you saying that people like Rick Santorum and Michelle Bachmann are not right-wing nuts?

I didn't say they were responsible for anything in particular. I said they have no sense of humor about their cherished beliefs. That's not an insult or name-calling, it's a statement of observed facts.

If freedom means anything, it is the liberty to tell others what they do not want to hear.
