Two teen undocumented immigrants from Guatemala reportedly escaped from a detention center in Des Plaines, Illinois, and carjacked two victims, including a 91-year-old Navy veteran, on Wednesday morning.

The boys, age 16 and 17, allegedly carjacked an unidentified driver in Des Plaines and then drove to a Walmart in Moline, Illinois, where they carjacked the veteran, say police (video below).

The elderly man was picking up his prescription at Walmart, noted the Daily Mail.

The teens reportedly threatened the senior, forced him out of his Buick, drove off with his car and hit other cars in the parking lot.

"I mean, the 91-year-old veteran was a little shook up but actually he did everything right when he gave them the car," Moline Detective Scott Williams told KLJB. "He didn't try to fight 'em.'"

The boys had been transferred to the Illinois facility after they illegally crossed the U.S.-Mexico border and requested asylum in the U.S.

According to police, the teens were trying to get to California where one of the boys has family.

The undocumented teens were arrested outside of Iowa City, Iowa, after an Iowa State Patrolman saw the Buick LeSabre on I-80.
