Twitter Users Show Support For Murderer Of NYPD Cops

| by Kathryn Schroeder

Following the shootings of two New York City police officers, some Twitter users showed a surprising amount of support for the killer.

NYPD officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were murdered by Ismaaiyl Brinsley on Saturday. The shootings reportedly took place as revenge for the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown.

Brinsley had posted to an Instagram account about his intention to kill two police officers, reports The New York Daily News.

“I’m Putting Wings On Pigs Today. They Take 1 Of Ours…….Let’s Take 2 of Theirs #ShootThePolice #RIPEricGardner #RIPMikeBrown This May Be My Final Post ——————I’m Putting Pigs In A Blanket,” the Instagram post read.

Once news broke of the fatal shootings, Twitter was awash with comments, notes The Blaze. Many were quite explicit in their display of support for the murderer.

“Guess NYPD can’t breathe after all,” user Brandon (@Nawshus) tweeted.

“BREAKING: NYPD gets what they deserve,” tweeted Dan Ansom Handsome (@ChadFu).

A tweet from Clark (@radicalhearts) nearly called for a celebration.

“-Reads the news about the two cops in Brooklyn.- … So… Anyone care for a glass of lemonade?,” the tweet read.

One response received, with a Retweet, came from Vintage Honey (@thesoulasylum) that reads, “*sips ice cold lemonade* [email protected]:-Reads the news about the two cops in Brooklyn.- … So…Anyone care for a glass of lemonade?’”

Marie (@ValidOrNah) showed her support for the murders, and wanted to know if she was alone.

“Am I the only one happy about this breaking new 2 cops getting shot,” her tweet read.

Sean Paul Gaultier (@SuperPursha) agreed with @ValidOrNah, based on a tweet he posted that read, “Shouts out to whoever shot those two cops in the head in bk #RNI.”

Another believer that the murders were justified is user #Classic (@Loopy_Sincere) who tweeted, [email protected]: Two cops just got shot in Brooklyn.."Salute the shooter.”

Abu Ottoman (@RadioR_m) viewed the murders as a sign of justice in America.

“There’s no justice in USA. Except when cops get shot in the head,” he tweeted.

International Hoev’s (@RealityyBites) tweet almost seems like he is against what happened, until you read the tweet more closely.

“I really hope them cops ain’t get shot for something criminal..it would send a greater message if they got it for just being cops,” the tweet reads.

The murders have been condemned by the families of Michael Brown and Eric Garner. Both families do not view violence as a solution to race relations and claims of police brutality.

Twitter was not the only medium supporters of the shootings took to on Saturday. A crowd of people gathered at the hospital where the bodies of the slain officers were removed and reportedly “clapped and laughed.”
