TNT’s Shaq Accused of Framing Ex-Friend with Child Porn

| by Alex Groberman

Shaquille O’Neal’s recent unlucky streak is about to go from bad to worse.

Over the past few days, more and more details have been leaking out regarding the lawsuit that O’Neal’s ex-employee and friend, Shawn Darling is filing against him. This, of course, is not to be confused with the suit filed against him last month by Robert Ross in Los Angeles, who had similarly distasteful things to say about one of the most beloved figures in NBA history.

In his lawsuit, Darling alleges that O’Neal somehow procured his law enforcement connections to frame him for a child pornography arrest.

As noted by the Sun-Sentinel (via The Big Lead):

Well-known as a police buff, O’Neal called on his law enforcement pals to “frame [Darling] for possession of child pornography, have his house stormed by police, have him arrested for it, and have his computers confiscated while he is hauled off to jail as an accused child pornographer,” the complaint says.

“O’Neal and his henchmen would stop [at] nothing to get what O’Neal needed,” the lawsuit alleges.

Among those police officers named in the amended complaint, filed July 26, is a current sergeant in the Miami Beach police internal affairs division and a former Miami Beach police chief.

As reported yesterday, Darling also maintains that O’Neal tracked his ex-wife, Shaunie, by installing a GPS tracking device into her car.

Darling is demanding $45,000 in damages for “intentional infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy and civil racketeering.”
