When most people get married, they’re filled with visions of years of happiness with their new spouse.

However, that apparently wasn't the case for 31-year-old Gennifer Yoakum, who is accused of stabbing her husband several times at a bar in Salisbury, Illinois, on Nov. 18 -- after just four days of marriage, The State Journal-Register reported.

The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, according to police.

Yoakum may face charges of aggravated battery and unlawful use of a weapon.

Deputies responded to a call about a car crash near the bar, and Yoakum was found in the driver’s seat. A short while later, her husband arrived at a nearby hospital with stab wounds.

Yoakum had sustained a small cut on her hand.

It’s currently unclear what prompted Yoakum to allegedly stab her husband.
