On July 24, Jenny Rincon, a cosmetologist in training, was helping a client Grace Salon in Tamarac, Florida, while her 4-year-old son, Alejandro Ariza, watched cartoons on an iPad. He was interrupted by a teenage thief who snatched the device from his hands and ran out of the salon, CBS Miami reported (video below).
"We didn't know what to do," salon owner Grace Plata said. "We were running behind him."
Though the iPad is owned by 7-year-old Andres Garcia, Rincon was upset by the theft. "I was nervous and angry," she told Local 10 News.
Andres sternly told reporters he could have stopped the thief, who remains at large. “I could have jumped on him,” Andres said. “And Alejandro could have sat on him,”
Popular VideoThis young teenage singer was shocked when Keith Urban invited her on stage at his concert. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.
Plata said she never would have expected this type of theft. “Now we’re going to have to change a lot of things here to make my clients more secure,” she said.
Though the suspect, who is described as about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a thin build, hasn’t been caught, Olympic Gold Medalist Howard Davis Jr. stepped up to help. Just five days after the theft, he donated a new iPad to the salon.
