A Texas mother of three was shot and left for dead on a county road.

On July 20, 28-year-old Lindsey Canada was allegedly shot multiple times by her ex-boyfriend Warren Murray, KHOU reports. He left her to die on the road.

Murray, 33, later flagged down a Deer Park police officer at a convenience store and admitted to shooting Lindsey.

She was shot in the leg and in the head, according to the GoFundMe page created by her sister Brandi Canada.

Lindsey was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and her family decided to remove her from life support, KHOU reports.

“He may have taken her life, but he will not take everything, we won’t let him,” Brandi said. “We have decided to donate her body to people who need organs, so she will live on in other people.”

Lindsey’s three children, ages 3, 5 and 7-years-old, have not been told about what happened to their mother.

“Those babies lost her their mom, I lost my sister and my mom and dad lost their daughter,” Brandi said.

“She did not deserve to be shot down and left in the street to die,” Brandi wrote on a GoFundMe page, which was created to raise funds to support the future of Lindsey's children and help pay for Lindsey's medical bills because she did not have insurance.

Murray is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Houston Chronicle.
