Middle school student DeShawn Isabelle, 15, allegedly beat, robbed and sexually assaulted a woman on a Chicago train. Security cameras clearly captured his face, and photos were released to the public.

Isabelle’s mother recognized her son in the photos, confronted him and turned him in to authorities, the Chicago Tribune reported.

According to Assistant State’s Attorney Joe DiBella, Isabelle approached the 41-year-old victim from behind in an empty train car and began hitting her in the head before he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her to the floor, where he beat her as she crouched in the fetal position.

Isabelle allegedly groped the woman and sexually assaulted her before he continued to beat her, holding her down to prevent her from leaving the train. Before Isabelle fled, he kicked and stomped the victim, took $2,000 in cash -- which she was planning on wiring to her family in Southeast Asia -- and stole her iPhone.

The woman called for help using an emergency button on the train, according to DiBella.

After Isabelle’s mother recognized her son and brought him to the authorities, he confessed to his crimes. He reportedly spent the money on graduation costs, junk food and Air Jordan track suits, and gave some of the money to his friends, NBC Chicago reported.

The victim suffered a concussion as well as cuts and bruises all over her body.
