Memphis police report that a 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a brutal beating in a Kroger parking on Saturday night.

The teen has been charged with aggravated assault, aggravated riot, and acting in concert to wit aggravated assault.

A video of the group of teenagers beating the employee is now circulating Facebook. Police say that the teenager who has been arrested is the suspect wearing a lime green shirt in the cell phone video taken at the Kroger in Poplar Plaza.

According to police, three people were jumped by a large group of teenagers who came from CiCi’s Pizza and were chanting “fam mob.” The mob reportedly attacked a 25-year-old customer as he left his car to enter Kroger.

Two employees, ages 17 and 18, intervened to try to stop the fight. KLTV reports that both were “struck several times in the head and face while being knocked to the ground.”

According to the victims, the mob threw large pumpkins at their heads; they were both eventually knocked unconscious.

The victims were treated on the scene for their injuries. All three refused to be taken to the hospital.

After the incident, Memphis Police Department Director Toney Armstrong released a statement in which he noted that the “night’s events clearly demonstrates a lack of parental controls and if warranted these parents will also be held accountable.”

In addition to the 15-year-old boy who was arrested and brought to Juvenile Court, three additional possible suspects are being detained by the police. No charges have been filed yet.
