Jennifer Fichter, 29, a former teacher from Polk County, Florida, surprised the court by pleading guilty to 37 counts of unlawful sexual contact with a minor during a pre-trial hearing on April 2.
According to The Daily Mail, she could face 15 years for each count when she is sentenced in a few months.
Fitcher was arrested last April after she was accused of having sexual relations with three of 17-year-old male students. In January 2014, the mother of one of the teens Fitcher allegedly had an affair with found texts between her son and Fitcher, who taught English at Central Florida Aerospace Academy. She contacted the authorities about the affair and her son cooperated.
An affair with another student allegedly began in September 2011, but it became sexual a month later. The boy reported having sex with Fitcher in his bedroom while his mother was away.
A third student came forward and claimed he and Fitcher had sex a total of six times.
One of the affairs reportedly resulted in a pregnancy, which she terminated. During a call with a student recorded by police, she said she was still in love with him and wanted to continue with the affair.
Despite her guilty plea, Fitcher faces more charges Hillsborough County, where some of the affairs took place.
Before these charges, Fitcher resigned from her position at Robinswood Middle School in Orange County, Florida, in 2008. Although no charges were ever filed, she reportedly had feelings for an eighth-grade student and hinted to another student that she wanted to have sex with him.
