The widow of deceased Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev is no longer cooperating with police, the New York Times reported.

Tsarnaev allegedly called his wife, Katherine Russell, shortly after pictures of him and his brother Dzhokhar were released by the FBI.

So far, Russell, who denies any involvement in the bombing, has not shared with investigators what that conversation was regarding. She is no longer cooperating with police.

However, she did recently give investigators a DNA sample at her parent’s Rhode Island home. Her DNA was not a match for the female DNA found on one of the pressure-cooker bombs.

Russell did not claim her husband’s body after he died April 19 in a shootout with police in Watertown, Mass. She just gave permission this week to release his body to the Tsarnaev family, who is arranging a traditional Muslim funeral for the 26-year-old.

Tamerlan's 19-year-old brother Dzhokhar escaped police during the Watertown shootout in an SUV. He was later found hiding in a boat located in a backyard on Franklin Street.

Now in custody, Dzhokhar has admitted to FBI interrogators that he and his brother originally considered both a suicide attack and bombing on the Fourth of July.

Spent fireworks left in a backpack belonging to Dzokhar, along with his laptop, were disposed by three of his friends, who were arrested this week. Two Kazakhstan exchange students, Azamat Tazhayakov, 20, and Dias Kadrybayev, 19, are accused of knowingly destroying evidence in order to cover up a crime. The third suspect, an American citizen, Robel Phillipos, 19, was charged with making false statements to police.

While FBI investigators are skeptical about Russell’s claim that she had nothing to do with the terror plot, they have not released any information that she also attempted to destroy evidence or help the brothers evade police after the bombings.

Tamerlan’s body was claimed by his family from the Massachusetts state medical examiner’s office at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Because the office closed that late in the evening, the cause of death is not expected to be released until some time Friday.
