Steubenville High School football coach Reno Saccoccia was recently given a new two-year administrative contract by the Steubenville school board.

According to the Ohio Valley Herald Star:

Two-year administrative contracts for Charles Kokiko, administrator; Bryan Mills, assistant middle school principal; Reno Saccoccia, director of administrative services; Joseph Yanok, middle school principal; Melinda Young, director of programs; and Sara Elliot, school psychologist.

According to text messages at the Steubenville rape trial, Saccoccia may have known about the rape of a 16-year-old girl by two of his players (Trent Mays and  Ma'lik Richmond), but didn’t report the crime to school administrators or to police, reported the Daily Mail.

Saccoccia refused to bench Mays and Richmond at first, telling the principal and school superintendent that the players did not think they had done anything wrong.

A text message, read in court by an agent of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, that Trent Mays sent to a friend stated: “I got Reno. He took care of it and s*it ain’t gonna happen, even if they did take it to court. Like he was joking about it so I’m not worried," reports CBSNews.com.

According to HuffingtonPost.com, an Ohio grand jury is meeting to decide whether or not to press charges against anyone else.
