Soccer Star Hope Solo Accused of Assaulting Sister, Nephew (Video)

U.S. soccer star Hope Solo was arrested yesterday after allegedly assaulting her sister and 17-year-old nephew.

Solo currently plays for the Seattle Reign FC, and was on the U.S. women’s soccer team when it won gold medals at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.

The alleged incident happened at a home owned by Solo's sister in Kirkland, a suburb in Seattle, Washington.

According to the police report, a male called 911 and claimed that a woman at the home was “hitting people” and would not stop or leave the residence, notes CNN (video below).

When police arrived, they reportedly heard sounds of a domestic disturbance, and found Solo drunk and upset.

“There was a big party going on at [the] house. It was an out-of-control situation,” Kirkland Police Lt. Mike Murray told The Seattle Times.

Police officers also found physical injuries on Solo’s sister and teen nephew.

The cops arrested Solo and charged her with two counts of 4th degree domestic violence assault.

Solo was booked into a local jail where she is being held without bail. She is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

The Seattle Reign FC released a statement: “We are aware of the situation regarding Hope Solo and are currently gathering information. We have no further comments at this time.”

"I have a bad rap," Solo told CNN in 2012. "People look at me as selfish, outspoken. But I know who I am.

"I don't expect any of the media to be positive," added Solo. "But I know that I'm doing wonderful things for the sport of soccer and I know I'm doing amazing things for female athletes. So I can take it."
