Soccer Mom Anna Gristina Arrested For Running Prostitution Ring
Prosecutors say that Anna Gristina, a soccer mom with four kids, allegedly ran a Manhattan brothel that made millions of dollars catering to wealthy, powerful clients. The prostitution ring was the target of a probe that lasted for five years, and included 50 to 100 hours of audio and video recordings.
The 44-year-old Gristina reportedly operated her high-priced prostitution ring out of an East 78th Street apartment and boasted “business contacts worldwide,” according to Manhattan Assistant DA Charles Linehan.
Gristina's “black book” included powerful politicians, top-law enforcement, influential lawyers, bankers, entertainment execs and Fortune 500 businessmen, as well as several wealthy European clients.
Gristina was caught on wiretaps claiming “to have made millions over the 15 or so years she has been in business as a madam,” according to newly released transcripts of the Feb. 23 hearing.
At least once Gristina allegedly arranged a sexual encounter for a client in which minors were involved. Her bail has been set at a $2 million bond or $1 million cash bail.
Known as “Anna Scotland,’’ Gristina was caught on tape saying her law-enforcement contacts were “poised to help her out, to let her know if there is trouble on the front that she needs to be concerned about, particularly back during the Eliot Spitzer investigation."

Prostitution has been far too
Prostitution has been far too highly criminalized.
If they really wanted to get rid of the "problem", then they would legalize it; then they could regulate it, tax it and insure safe practices, just as they do in the Holland. I hear that it makes the Dutch quite a bit of money in taxes.
The insanity principle is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. The far right, the far left, vegans, creationists and other extremists believe in the insanity principle, religiously.
I agree with everyone,
I agree with everyone, taxpayer cash WASTED on a FIVE YEAR investigation!!! REALLY? FIVE YEARS??!?!
The only problem I can see is like everyone said if there were minors involved...ADULTS should be able to do as they please in a victimless "crime".
Keep the government OUT of the bedrooms....
Congratulations on shutting
Congratulations on shutting down yet another successful business simply because some people don't like it. We're supposed to be able to make our own decision. And no, no license should be required.
