Robert Kellerman Arrested for Bringing Loaded Gun into Newark Liberty International Airport

| by

Port Authority police officers arrested 59-year-old Robert Kellerman on Sunday when he allegedly tried to bring a loaded gun onto a plane.

Kellerman, a passenger at the Newark Liberty International Airport, was arrested at a checkpoint inside Terminal C around 6 a.m. He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon after Transportation Security Administration screeners detected the .22 caliber handgun, according to officials.

Kellerman told officials that he forgot the gun was in the bag, which has become something of a reoccurring story for Newark Liberty police. A 41-year-old Florida man was arrested Feb. 1 with a loaded 9 mm handgun at the same airport and he also told officials he had forgotten the gun was in the bag.

Kellerman could not be reached for comment.
