Chicago police have issued a warning to all residents and drivers in the Fuller Park area after a group of robbers have begun using fake road blocks to attack drivers.

After legitimate construction work shut down a lane along West 51st street, the thieves began using a construction barrel to block down the other lane.

According to police and reports by ABC 7 Chicago, the robbers have beaten and robbed drivers on two different occasions after they left their vehicle to move the barrel.

The suspects are described as three to four black males between 17 and 23 years old, about 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-3, and 180-220 pounds, police said.

"I think it's terrible. I live in the neighborhood. It's unsafe for everybody. It's unsafe for visitors. They don't know who they're robbing. They don't know if they're robbing family members of people in the neighborhood or friends or whoever it may be," said Latonia Jackson, a Fuller Park resident to WLS-TV.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 312-747-8382.
