A reporter and photographer at a news station in Virginia were shot and killed early Wednesday morning during a live broadcast.

Video of the disturbing incident (below) shows WDBJ reporter Alison Parker, 24, conducting an interview at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta, Virginia. Suddenly, shots begin to ring out.

Screams can be heard coming from several people, before the camera is dropped to the floor and the live feed is cut.

Parker, along with WDBJ photographer Adam Ward, 27, died at the scene. Vicki Gardner of Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce was also injured during the shooting, but she had surgery and is recovering.

According to state police, the suspected gunman -- identified as Vester Lee Flanigan, but also known as Bryce Williams -- shot himself on I-66 in Faquier County, WDBJ reports. He is reportedly in critical condition, and is a former WDBJ employee.
