| by Charles Roberts

Two New York Police Department officers were shot on Monday night.

According to NBC New York, the two officers in question were involved in an incident on East 184th Street in the Tremont section shortly after 10:30 p.m.

It is not clear what exactly happened, but the incident led to gunshots being fired and the officers sustaining non-life threatening wounds.

The New York Post reports that the shooter was an armed robber, but this has not yet been confirmed.

The officers were reportedly then taken to the St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. The New York Post is reporting that “one cop was struck in the arm and another in the back.”

The suspects involved in the shooting are reportedly still at large.

This incident comes just two weeks after two other NYPD officers were gunned down in an execution-style ambush.

We will continue to update this story as more information comes in.
