Jeffery Bane was arrested on Sept. 6 in Morgantown, W. Va., but outrage is growing over how police officers conducted themselves while taking the terminally ill man into custody.
A video (below) shot by Sara Bostonia shows police officers arresting Bane for alleged public intoxication, but his family says Bane was sober and suffers from Huntington’s Disease, which can mimic drunk behavior, reports the Daily Dot.
Bane screams for help on the video, which deeply upset Bostonia who shot the incident with her cell phone from across the street.
While filming, Bostonia yells, "Stop it!" on the video. She is soon approached by a police officer who starts questioning her.
Bostonia tells the officer to "go away" and "leave me alone."

"I cannot believe you are doing this to him," says Bostonia. "I saw him pinned to the ground screaming and gurgling at the mouth because he's bleeding at the head. You will not handcuff him and let him up. He is choking on his own blood. I could hear it from my car. This is wrong."
The police officer threatens to arrest Bostonia if she is "loud and boisterous," which he claims somehow interferes with the cops' arrest of Bane.
Bostonia tells the cop that she called an ambulance for Bane. The police tell Bane to stop spitting, but Bostonia says again that he is choking on his own blood.
The Dominion Post reported that Bane was charged with obstruction of justice, disorderly conduct and battery of a police officer.
Bane’s nephew Josh told The Free Thought Project that Bane was walking to a park when his child's stroller got stuck on a curb.
"In this moment someone mistook my uncle's actions to keep his kids safe as child abuse,” stated Josh.
“Assuming because of his appearance he was high on narcotics with out reason they began to sub due him, macing and beating him in the head as he fell to his face were he was then held with a great amount of force by two officers double his size as a third one landed on his torso,” added Josh.

In an effort to get the criminal charges dropped, Bane’s family created the "Justice for Jeffrey Bane" Facebook page, which shows the injuries that Bane received from the police.
Granville Police Chief Craig Corkern told the Daily Dot that the arrest of Bane was instigated by Westover police officers and that Granville cops arrived about 10 minutes later.
