Pinellas Park, Florida, police are searching for a man who allegedly tried to murder an 11-month-old boy.

Glen Franklin Neal, Jr., 31, kicked, punched, and bit the baby, causing him head trauma, reports WTSP. He was admitted to All Children’s Hospital, where he remains in serious condition with bleeding in his brain.

It is unknown what relationship Neal has to the baby boy but he was responsible for the child’s care and was in the child’s home at the time of the assault. Police believe the child suffered abuse by Neal.

Neal has a criminal record that includes child neglect, resisting arrest, fleeing to elude law enforcement, cocaine possession, and battery on a law enforcement officer, reports The Daily Mail. He was in state prison for several months between 2009 and 2010.
