This Man Allegedly Ran Over A Pregnant Woman With His Car

| by Jonathan Wolfe

Dewey Green, 23, is facing murder charges after using his car to allegedly purposefully kill 53-year-old pregnant woman Janice Pitts.

The incident occurred in Douglas County, Georgia, when Green rear-ended Pitts’ car. The woman’s daughter, Iesha Davis, was in the car as well and spoke with WSBTV about what happened.

“He just kept hitting us, he just kept hitting us,” Davis said.

When Pitts got out of her car to look at the damage from the crash, Green accelerated his car and pinned her between two trucks.

“I’m banging on the window, ‘Please, you're crushing my mom, you're crushing my mom. Please, you're crushing my mom. He wouldn't look at me. He kept his face straight and kept his foot down on the gas."

When Green finally backed his car up, Pitts’ body dropped to the ground. Green then hit the gas again and ran her over.

“After that, I just completely lost it," Davis said. "I don't understand why. I don't understand why. I'll never ever get the image of my mom lifeless body lying on the pavement, and the man ran her over like she was nothing."

Green is charged with murder and aggravated assault. He could be charged with infanticide as well, depending on how far along Pitts was in her pregnancy. His first hearing is scheduled for today.

Police have not yet pinned down a motive for the crime, and a toxicology report is currently being run.

“No doubt there’s alcohol involved,” said Douglas County Police Department spokesperson Stan Copeland.

Green is an Alabama resident. His father is currently in Georgia assisting police with their investigation.
