Police: Girl Mouths 'Help Me' To Patrolling Officers

| by Amanda Andrade-Rhoades

Deputy Ryan Hooks and Sgt. Paula Pendleton were concluding their patrol in Walton County, Florida, on July 3 when they decided to walk by a pavilion area notorious for attracting underage drinkers.

They saw a girl sitting on a man’s lap and noticed she was mouthing, “Help me,” in their direction, WALA reported. “Help me, he won’t let me go,” she reportedly told Pendleton in a quiet voice.

The officers ordered Fidel Mandujano Jr., who was holding the girl’s waist, to release her. The police said she seemed scared and was shaking and teary-eyed.

The teen later told authorities she had gotten separated from her friend and decided to go home. As she got to the beach access area, Mandujano allegedly tried to kiss her and wouldn’t let her leave. It was at that point that Manujano pulled her onto the bench and held her there.

The teen also said he had inappropriately touched her inside her clothes and only stopped when Hooks and Pendleton arrived.

After questioning, Mandujano was arrested for false imprisonment and sexual battery. He’s currently being held at Walton County Jail, WJHG reported.
