A police cadet from Tennessee allegedly shot his 18-year-old ex-girlfriend and her mother and then killed their family friend before his former flame’s brother fatally shot him dead.
Michael William Little, 21, reportedly got into a heated argument with his ex, Ashley Womack, at her house in Knoxville on Friday night, reports Daily Mail. The cadet and teen had been broken up for two weeks and he showed up at her house that evening, according to reports. Little didn’t just fight with his ex – he also reportedly got into a row with her 47-year-old mother, Rhonda, and their 28-year-old family friend, Travis Wegener.
As he was leaving their home, Little allegedly produced a .45 caliber handgun and shot Ashley’s mother and Wegener. He returned to the patio where he had been talking to Ashley and shot her, as well.
Hearing gunshots, Ashley’s 22-year-old brother Joshua Womack used the family’s .22 caliber rifle to shoot Little several times. The police cadet reportedly died after being taken to University of Tennessee Medical Center. Wegener was pronounced dead at the scene, reports Knoxville News Sentinel.
Both Ashley and her mother were taken to the hospital, where the young woman was treated and released for a gunshot wound to her leg. Her mother is still reportedly in serious condition for a gunshot wound to her upper shoulder.
Neither Joshua, nor his father, Guy Womack, were injured.
Little did not use a police-issued handgun to commit these crimes, according to Knoxville Police spokesman Darrell DeBusk.
