A Pennsylvania woman has been arrested and charged with dousing a Cumberland County man with a flammable liquid, setting him on fire and stealing his van.

Christina Leach, 27, was arrested in neighboring Dauphin County Saturday night after she was reportedly found driving the victim’s white work van, WCAU News reports. Police in Silver Spring Township, in Cumberland County, have charged Leach with aggravated assault, arson and theft of a vehicle, according to police and court documents.

Silver Spring Township Sgt. Leroy Hippensteel said in a Saturday news conference that Leach visited the victim’s home after offering to give the man a massage.

“She tied him to the bed and poured a flammable substance on his upper torso and lit him on fire,” Hippensteel said, according to WCAU News.

Authorities have not released the victim’s name.

Hippensteel said the man was able to free himself, jump from a second-story window, and drive himself to a nearby convenience store where he called for help.

Emergency responders had the man airlifted to Lehigh Valley Hospital’s burn center.

Hippensteel told The Patriot-News the fire at the victim’s home spread to the floor, walls and ceiling but damage was contained to an upstairs bedroom.

“This is shocking,” he said. “This is the first time I've seen anything like this in my 24-year career.”

According to WPMT News, Leach was arraigned in Dauphin County because of several unrelated, outstanding warrants, according to WPMT News.

Hippensteel said in an email that she was being held at Dauphin County Prison.

He indicated in Saturday’s news conference that, in addition to the assault, arson and theft charges, Leach could be charged with other crimes in the future.

The extent of the victim’s injuries and his current condition is not known.

Court documents did not indicate that Leach had an attorney.
