Pastor Pleads Guilty to Climbing Ladder, Spying on Couple Having Sex

Jeremy Grinnell, a former pastor and college professor, recently pleaded guilty to climbing a ladder to watch a Cannon Township, Mich. couple have sex in their bedroom on Nov. 7, 2013.

According to, Grinnell pleaded guilty on Tuesday to "surveilling unclothed persons."

He reportedly propped a ladder up against the couple's house, scaled up to a second-floor window and watched the couple copulating for about 20 seconds. Grinnell was spotted by the man, but was able to escape.

Amazingly, Grinnell returned the next night to watch the couple have sex again, but this time the male victim called the police.

At the time of his arrest, Grinnell claimed he was there to pray for the woman engaged in sex, noted Talking Points Memo.

Grinnell was formerly an assistant professor at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary and a  “teaching pastor” at a church in Rockford, Mich.

Grinnell, who has a Ph.D. from Calvin Theological Seminary, was originally charged with two counts, but was allowed to plead guilty to one count that names both victims.
