Passenger Thrown Off Flight For Going Into Rage Over 'Merry Christmas' Greeting

A man was reportedly kicked off an American Airlines flight after he made a scene when a gate agent wished him, “Merry Christmas.”

According to reports, the Scrooge-like man was flying from New York’s LaGuardia Airport to Dallas, Texas, when a gate agent started wishing passengers “Merry Christmas” as they boarded the flight.

The man in question, however, was not as cheerful as the gate agent and appeared to be offended by her greeting.

“You shouldn’t say that because not everyone celebrates Christmas,” the man retorted.

“Well, what should I say then?” the gate agent asked.

“Don’t say, ‘Merry Christmas!’” the man replied.

Once he got on the flight, the man finally lost his patience when a fellow passenger wished him the same greeting. The man reportedly went on a rampage over the use of the phrase and started lecturing the flight attendants and pilots about what was appropriate to say.

When the crew couldn’t calm the man down, they were able to get him escorted off the plane while other passengers applauded and cheered. American Airlines reportedly refused to comment to the NY Post on the matter.
