Vince Lovato, the editor of the Lake County Leader newspaper, was arrested last Wednesday while taking pictures of a head-on car accident on Montana Highway 35.
Lovato and his wife, who works as a reporter for the same newspaper, drove to the crash after hearing about it on their police scanner, notes the Daily Inter Lake.
At some point while Lovato was taking pictures he was arrested by Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Anthony Isbell.
Lovato was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing a police officer and disorderly conduct.
The Great Falls Tribune contacted the Lake County Leader, but Lovato referred questions to Daily Inter Lake publisher Rick Weaver who declined to comment on the story.

Trooper Isbell referred questions from the Daily Inter Lake to the State Attorney’s General Office who referred questions to the Lake County Attorney’s Office, which refused to comment.
The Lake County Leader and the Daily Inter Lake are owned by the same company.
Lovato is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 15 in Poison, MT.
The charges against Lovato are all misdemeanors, but if found guilty of all charges he could spend up to two years in jail.
