New Mexico Grandma Tracks Down Man Who Stole Her Late Husband's Truck

New Mexico grandmother Ana Dean recently tracked down the thief of her late husband’s car after it was stolen.

The 61-year-old Albuquerque, New Mexico, resident packed up her grandchildren in her own car and drove relentlessly to find the man who had stolen her husband’s vehicle. On the road, Dean prayed that her husband’s spirit would guide her to the stolen truck.

Dean’s husband of 35 years, Donald, passed away in 2014 at the age of 81.

“I started down Montano, and was real close to Second Street, and all of a sudden I spotted his truck,” Dean said.

The suspected thief then emerged from the truck, which is when Dean dashed for the vehicle and entered the electronic lock to get into the Ford. Dean verified that the car was her late husband’s, then blocked the entrance to the parking lot with her own car and called 911.

Police quickly surrounded the Ford and arrested 25-year-old suspect Jasen Mulvaney. He was charged with transferring a stolen motor vehicle.

The late Mr. Dean was a veteran of the Korean War and owned his own construction company.
