As Ferguson, Missouri, prepares for a grand jury to decide on whether Officer Darren Wilson will be indicted for the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown, additional recordings have been released that paint an interesting picture of what transpired that day.
According to information obtained by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, a brief -- albeit fuzzy -- timeline of events can be pieced together beginning from the moment when Brown allegedly committed a robbery at a store and ending with Wilson at the hospital.
The records show that on Aug. 9, just before noon, a call came across the radio of a “stealing in progress” at the Ferguson Market. According to The Blaze, this is the same establishment as the one Brown was filmed at allegedly stealing a box of Swisher cigars. Moments after that dispatcher call went out, Wilson reportedly inquired about whether the officers who responded to the initial ‘robbery’ call needed any assistance. They apparently informed him that the suspects had “disappeared.”
At 12:02 p.m., Wilson called in and asked for another car to respond to his location. According to sources that spoke with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Wilson at some point realized that Brown matched the description of the man in the alleged robbery.

From there, we get to the part where conflicting reports paint drastically different pictures of what transpired during Wilson’s confrontation with Brown. Wilson and unnamed sources maintain that Brown reached for the officer’s gun during a violent struggle – one that ultimately led to his death. Brown’s friends and others in the area, meanwhile, say that Brown did not attempt to fight Wilson and that his hands were up when he was shot.
The records obtained by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch show that less than 61 seconds passed between the moment Wilson told the dispatcher that he made contact with Brown and the 18-year-old’s death.
Here is the video that has emerged of Wilson leaving the Ferguson police station with his lawyers and fellow cops.
