New Details Emerge About Utah Police Officer Who Raped And Killed Wife

| by Amanda Schallert

Investigators for a case where a Utah policeman raped his wife and killed his family are uncovering more details about the incident.

Joshua Boren killed his two children, wife, mother-in-law and himself in January. Boren had been a police officer at the Lindon Police Department when he committed the crimes, the Inquisitr reports.

New details about the case show that Boren was allegedly arguing through text messages with his wife Kelly the night before the tragedy occurred. Kelly Boren reportedly said that her husband had raped her multiple times over the years. An investigation in the crimes suggests that Boren had drugged with wife with Ambien and then raped her as he videotaped the incidents.

“I hate my life because (of) you,” Kelly Boren allegedly texted. “You killed a part of me.”

Though investigators have found some written evidence from Boren that suggests the rapes occurred, no videos have been uncovered.

Kelly and Joshua Boren had been separated for some time, but text messages suggest that she had told him that she was going to take their kids prior to the murder, which may have caused Joshua Boren to react.

Boren’s father killed himself when Boren was 5 years old and his mother allegedly abused drugs.
