Meth Bust.Meth Bust.

An Oklahoma driver’s nervous behavior led a sheriff’s deputy to allegedly discover more than 8 pounds of meth disguised as Christmas presents in the trunk of her car.

Deputy Scotty Moree was driving east in Tulsa when he reportedly noticed Chanele Pauley neglected to signal before changing lanes.

Moree pulled Pauley over and told her the reason for the stop. He instructed her and her passenger, Walter Rawls, to remain in the vehicle. According to Moree’s report, Pauley seemed nervous while he asked her where she was coming from and where she was going.

“Chanele was breathing very heavily and I could see the carotid artery in her neck. I observed Chanele to also be shaking,” he wrote in the report. She also began passing gas, the report notes.

“All these signs led me to believe Chanele was extremely nervous,” he said. “These signs are not seen while speaking with the general motoring public.”

Moree’s police dog then sniffed the outside of the vehicle and alerted him to the odor of a drug. Upon searching the car, the deputy found four boxes wrapped in Christmas paper and opened them.

It was then that he found several bags of a white substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine, reports Tulsa World. The drugs weighed 8.5 pounds.

Pauley, 33, and Rawls, 43, both from Arizona, were arrested on a complaint of trafficking in illegal drugs on Dec. 22, reports KOTV-DT.
