After Shoplifting Spree at Sephora, Mother Tries to Place Blame on 12-Year-Old Daughter

| by Lina Batarags

On April 10, a woman brought her three children along when she went shopping at a Sephora in the Orland Square Mall.

According to the Orland Park Patch, a security guard working in the general area witnessed Amani Ibrahim allegedly stuffing products -- such as eyeliner -- into a shopping bag that she had brought into the store with her. On top of that, Ibrahim was also reportedly handing products to her 12-year-old daughter, who apparently put the products in the same shopping bag.

Ibrahim, 35, then prepared to leave the store with the three children, only to find the guard blocking their way and not allowing them to leave.

At that point, according to UPI, Imani reportedly tried to pass the blame off onto her 12-year-old daughter.

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

“Amani advised me it was her daughter…who committed the retail theft and not her,” the officer stated.

Ibrahim was taken into custody. When the police discovered that she had six previous theft convictions, she was charged with a felony.

The children were driven to the Orland Park Police Department, where one of Ibrahim’s cousins was called to come pick them up.
