A Frewsburg, New York, mother has been arrested for permanently tattooing her two sons, ages 12 and 13.

A report of mistreatment to the children, perpetrated by their mother Chantilly Thomas, was made to police on Dec. 31, 2015. Arriving at the family’s home, they found she had tattooed the words “Ride or Die” on the back of her 12-year-old son’s hand and a lightning bolt on the back of her 13-year-old son’s hand.

It is unknown whether the children wanted the tattoos, but police determined it is a case of mistreatment.

The tattoos were given to the children in November 2015, reported WGRZ. Thomas is not licensed to perform any tattooing in the United States.

Thomas was charged with unlawfully dealing with a child in the second degree, WGRZ reported. She has been released and will appear in court on Jan. 20.
