A 42-year-old mother told an Australian court that she sent illicit photographs of her daughters, both under the age of 14, to their dance instructor with the hopes of furthering their dancing careers.

The woman, who was not named to protect her daughters’ identities, told the Sydney District Court that she is “ashamed and embarrassed” that she sent the photos to Grant William Davies, who is facing multiple child sex abuse charges.

She pleaded guilty to four counts of producing and disseminating child abuse material.

“I have deep regret and hurt for the pain I’ve caused my family,” she said, according to the Daily Telegraph.

She claimed she “knew it wasn’t right, but I didn’t know how to stop it.”

A series of text messages between her and Davies in December said:

“Are the girls naked?” Davies asked.

“No. Lol,” she replied.

“How about on the weekend they do you some more special G-shots?” Davies asked.

About 30 minutes later she sent an explicit photo of her daughter to Davies.

“That has made me excited and horny,” he replied.

She said her daughters were afraid of the 40-year-old dance instructor. She stopped sending him pictures in 2013, after Davies was arrested. He is accused of abusing at least 10 of his former students.

Davies was the co-director of RG Dance at Chiswick, which has since closed down. His students reportedly performed in major productions overseas.

Psychiatrist Dr. Antony Milch testified that the mother was blinded by her desire to further her daughters’ careers. Milch said the girls seemed confused that they had done anything wrong.

“I don’t think it was wrong because we had to do everything he said,” one of the girls told Milch in an interview.

A judge revoked the woman’s bail and placed her into custody. Her sentencing hearing will be held in September.
