A South Carolina mother was arrested after her 1-year-old boy was found outside by himself, covered in feces.

According to reports, 22-year-old Lenzie Ezell was arrested after police made the discovery at her home in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

A neighbor reportedly spotted the infant running out into the street by himself and noticed he was covered in something brown.

When police arrived, they said they saw the baby wearing a dirty T-shirt with no diaper on and found he was covered in feces with an open cut on his foot and “road rash” on his behind.

When police made their way to the back of the house, they immediately noticed the conditions the child was living in. Police say the back door was wide open and there was broken glass on the floor inside, the kitchen didn’t contain any food or beverages, and pills and feces were scattered all over the floors.

The baby was taken to the hospital for an examination and was placed into protective custody. Meanwhile, police tracked down Ezell and arrested her on child neglect charge as well as an outstanding bench warrant. She is currently being held on a $1,120 bond.
