Minnesota Couple And Their Daughter Found Dead In Apparent Double Murder-Suicide

Police were called to a Minnesota home Saturday afternoon and discovered three dead bodies in an apparent double murder-suicide.

Next-door neighbor Collin Prochnow noticed that he hadn’t seen the Crowleys since before Christmas. He went to go pick up a couple of packages that had been on their doorstep for days and made a disturbing discovery.

Authorities arrived to the Apple Valley home and confirmed that David Crowley, 29, his wife Komel, 28, and their 5-year-old daughter were all dead. A dog was said to be inside the home and the three bodies were sent to the Hennepin County Medical Examiners office, according to police.

The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are working with the Apple Valley Police Department in their investigation. They are treating the incident as “suspicious”.

Neighbors of the Crowleys are still in shock that something like this could happen.

“It’s such a grisly, gruesome thing,” said Alice Hixson, who has lived across the street with her husband for 21 years. The Hixsons told The Star Tribune that they would see Crowley playing with his daughter in the back yard.

Other neighbors said they believed Crowley may have been in the military. One neighbor said he thought Crowley worked from home as a screenwriter and that his wife was a dietitian.

Crowley posted pictures on his Instagram in military and police gear, but the attire is probably from The Bullet Exchange  a Minnesota company that provides military and police props to filmmakers.

Crowley is credited as a director and writer for a movie-in-progress called “Gray State”. The film appears to be about the rise of a militarized police force, martial law and the “second American revolution”.

Police said they don’t know how long the bodies have been in the home but Prochnow believes they may have been there since before Christmas due to the packages that had been stacking up on their doorstep.

The family had been living in that neighborhood for a year and a half.
