A 20-year-old man who broke into the home of a 101-year-old woman in Milwaukee in September reportedly admitted to raping her while he was there.
Antoine Devon Pettis reportedly says he was only planning on robbing the elderly woman’s home, but changed his mind when he saw her in bed, reports the Journal Sentinel. The woman, who has not been identified, told police that she heard a noise and called out to ask who was there. Pettis allegedly told her to “shut up” and slapped her in the face numerous times.
He then reportedly raped her by flipping her over onto her stomach and holding her down by the wrists. When police found the victim, they say she was bleeding from her face, buttocks and legs.
Pettis reportedly told cops that he would have worn a condom if he had planned to rape the woman, reports the New York Daily News. He was caught after his DNA matched that already in the Wisconsin law enforcement database.
Pettis, who already had a warrant out for his arrest for failing to appear in court for allegedly obstructing an officer and possession of THC in 2013, has been charged with burglary, aggravated battery and sexual assault and could face 60 years in prison.
