A Utah man was charged with forcible sodomy and object rape in an alleged sexual assault of his wife’s ex-husband at a hotel.
Michael Seach was arrested and charged for attacking his wife’s former husband, whom he allegedly had been blackmailing and threatening with death.
The victim, who has not been identified, reportedly told police he had been threatened for the past seven to 10 months by his ex-wife’s husband, who claimed to have damaging information about him.
"Through that relationship, the suspect had gained some information on the victim and was using that information to extort him for money. And then had eventually used that information to extort him for the sexual assault and then had threatened his life if he did not participate," Riverdale Police Lt. James Ebert said, according to KSL.
The 49-year-old Seach reportedly threatened the victim’s life after he initially declined the sexual proposals. Sometime last weekend, the victim was allegedly sexually assaulted at a hotel.
The victim reportedly escaped and ran to the hotel’s front lobby to call police. Officers found him with a blindfold still around his neck, Ebert said.
Police did not disclose what information was being used to allegedly blackmail the ex-husband.
Ebert did say the victim gave Seach money and signed over the title of his vehicle to him.
The charges against Seach are both first-degree felonies. He was also charged with possession of a weapon by a restricted person, a third-degree felony.
