Meloney Selleneit is accused of telling her husband Michael Selleneit to shoot their neighbor Tony Pierce because he was “telepathically raping” her.

Authorities claim that Meloney illegally bought a gun for Michael who obeyed his wife and shot Pierce twice outside his trailer home in Centerville, Utah in October 2011.

Last week, Meloney pleaded guilty, but mentally ill, to attempted criminal solicitation and possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person.

After the alleged shooting, Michael told police that Pierce had been telepathically raping his wife for years and used crack cocaine to control her mind, reported The Salt Lake Tribune.

Pierce survived the assault, but still experiences pain daily.

Michael pleaded guilty, but mentally ill, to attempted manslaughter and use of a firearm by a restricted person in January of this year.

He was sentenced to two 15-year prison terms.

Both Michael and Meloney are being held at a state hospital, until they are well enough to serve their prison sentences.

Meloney will receive her prison sentence in October.

Michael has been banned from owning a gun since his 1990 child sex conviction, reported ABC 4.
