Kadin Koehler, 23, was killed on Sunday morning at his home in Brandon, Florida, when a friend reportedly pointed an assault rifle at him, but didn't think it would fire.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Koehler was hanging out with Chad Small, 21, who pointed a loaded .762-caliber assault rifle and pulled the trigger.

The Tampa Tribune reports that Small told deputies that he was aware that the assault rifle's magazine was loaded, but didn't think it would fire for reasons unknown.

Small (pictured above) was arrested and charged with culpable negligence manslaughter.

He was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail, noted WFLA.
