A man playing a video game reportedly became so annoyed with his girlfriend’s 1-year-old baby boy crying that he abused him, causing serious injuries.

Police in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, told WNEP the child is fighting for his life.

Michael Mason, 22, admitted to police that he was playing a video game and became angry because the child would not stop crying, which caused him to abuse the child with what he claims was probably more force than necessary.

Mason was allegedly drunk when he tried to quiet the child by throwing him against a wall, dropping him three feet into his play pen, and causing injury to the boy’s genitals.

Mason found that the child was limp and not moving so he woke the child’s grandmother, who was sleeping downstairs, and she took him to the hospital.

Mason then went to sleep.

Police later arrested Mason and charged him with three felony counts of aggravated assault, a felony of endangering the welfare of a child, and a misdemeanor of recklessly endangering another person, reports News Item.

The baby boy suffered a fractured skull, bleeding in the brain, swelling on his penis and testicles, and multiple bruises.

He remains in critical condition.

The child’s mother was reportedly at work when the abuse occurred.

The other children who reside in the home have been turned over to Northumberland County Children and Youth Services.
