Back in November 2013, police responded to a suicide call at Moss’s home. At the time, Moss told 911 operators that there was a dead body in his home and that his daughter, Emani, drank a poisonous chemical.

Upon the responding officers' arrival at the home, Moss showed police the garbage can where he had put his daughter’s starved, 32-pound body after burning it.

Following an investigation, police determined that the child was likely dead for a few days prior to Moss calling 911. Authorities also arrested Moss’s wife, Tiffany, the little girl’s stepmother, for her role in the child’s death.

“They both duct-taped the victim's body, arms to legs, to get her into the trash can easily,” Gwinnett County Police Detective Collin Flynn said following the arrest. “They loaded her in the trash can to try to find a place to burn the body. [Eman] said he loaded some charcoal into the trashcan and attempted to burn the body. He said the body didn't burn like he thought it would; he thought it would burn to ashes but it didn't.”

Tiffany reportedly starved and isolated Emani, while making sure that her own biological children were fed and clothed. As part of his plea deal, Eman has agreed to testify against his wife as she goes to trial.
