William A. Harvey of DeLand, Florida, pleaded guilty to producing child pornography which involved an autistic 16-year-old girl.

According to the police report, the victim came over to play with Harvey’s teenage daughters. When the girls, who normally live with their mother, departed, Harvey told the girl to take off her clothing. When she refused, he forcibly stripped her and photographed her nude. The images were taken on May 5, 2014.

Harvey, 51, was sentenced to 16 years and eight months in federal prison on June 11. U.S. District Judge Anne Conway also ordered he be supervised for the rest of his life, NY Daily News reported.

Authorities were alerted to the crime after the victim told someone about the incident the following day, The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a statement, “The victim had stated that Harvey had used a purple camera to take the photographs of her. That camera was also found during the execution of the search warrant.” Investigators found 20 pornographic photos on Harvey’s computer and an external hard drive.

During an interview with an FBI agent, Harvey admitted to taking the photos. He claimed that he knew she was “a kid,” but tried to justify his actions by claiming she looked older. Harvey had known the victim since she was 6 years old, The Orlando Sentinel reported.
