On Saturday afternoon, a Brownsville man was arrested for allegedly taking a picture of a woman’s buttocks without her permission.

Pedro Elimeleo Zuniga-Martinez was arrested on an improper visual photography charge, and is now facing deportation.

Investigators reported that officers had been called out to a used car lot in Highway 77/83 for a disturbance early Saturday afternoon.

There, a woman told police that she had been looking inside of a car when she heard a camera shutter and saw Zuniga-Martinez holding a cell phone.

Although the woman, who had gone to the lot with the intention of buying a car, believed the man had taken a picture of her buttocks, she could not find the photo on his phone.

When officers spoke to Zuniga-Martinez, he admitted to taking the photo.

The 22-year-old man appeared before a Brownsville Municipal Court judge, where he was issued a $5,000 bond.

He is currently in custody at the Cameron County Jail.
