Man Escapes From Back of Police Car, Eventually Caught, and Charged with Stealing Handcuffs
A man in Pennsylvania has been charged with stealing a pair of police handcuffs after being arrested and held in a cop car while authorities searched for drugs.
Unbeknownst to the officers, 29-year-old Douglas Lydic was able to climb out of the car window and escape to his girlfriend’s home in Indiana. Lydic had not yet been charged with anything when he was originally being detained on Sunday evening.
Lydic was re-arrested on Monday morning and is currently sitting in an Indiana County jail facing the charges of stealing the handcuffs and escaping police. He is scheduled to face a judge early next month.
Lydic’s girlfriend is also reportedly in custody and now faces charges for obstructing his arrest by police.
