Man Charged With 18 Counts Of Sexual Abuse For Filming Sex Acts With "Incapacitated" Women

| by Will Hagle

A 23-year-old man from Iowa City has been charged with 18 counts of third-degree sex abuse after allegedly being caught on camera committing sexual acts with “incapacitated” women. The man, Nathan Schloss, faces up to 10 years in prison for each of those charges, which law enforcement officials claim were carried out with “multiple” victims.

The videos were discovered by police after Schloss himself filed a report that his roommate had tortured his pet cat. According to KCRG, police found videos depicting Schloss’ sexual abuse while they were investigating that incident.

“Over the course of that investigation, this information came to light that these incidents may have occurred,” said Iowa City Police Sgt. Scott Gaarde.

The majority of the videos reportedly include victims that “had no idea the abuse occurred.” Gaarde claimed that at least one of the victims had to be informed that she was sexually assaulted by Schloss. “The victim has never seen this video and was unaware this ever happened,” a complaint reads. The videos were recorded during a period from May 2012 to September 2013.

“We have identified and spoken to several of the victims involved in this manner and continue to identify others,” said Sgt. Gaarde.

Schloss is currently in custody on a $180,000 cash bond.
