Man Arrested for Punching Female Clerk Over 41 Cents (Video)

Chevron gas station cashier Yadira Lara was allegedly punched by Kendrick Ruth because he did not want to pay an extra 41 cents for a cigar.

The assault was captured on the gas station's surveillance camera (video below) in Lakewood, Calif.

Police released footage of the attack on Sept. 28.

Ruth was arrested for robbery and assault at a motel in Long Beach, Calif. on Wednesday.

The incident began when Ruth gave one dollar to Lara for a cigar that cost $1.41, but she held onto the cigar.

"He just said "Well f--- this is all I have," recalled Lara.

After Lara put the cigar beneath the counter, Ruth allegedly reached over the counter, punched her and ran away.

"I just blacked out for a while, just looking for my glasses. I just wish I just could've given it to him and none of this would have happened," added Lara.

Lara may have suffered permanent damage in her eye as the punch re-injured a childhood injury. Amazingly, no one in the gas station came to her defense or aid.

Ruth is being held on a $100,000 bond, according to the Lakewood Sheriff's department.
