Man Arrested For Child Porn Smiles In Mug Shot

| by Tony Tran

An Alabama man suspected of soliciting child pornography was caught smiling in his booking photo.

Law enforcement officials arrested Jared Tolson, 21, on June 10 after parents of a 13-year-old boy told authorities he attempted to coerce the child into sending him sexually explicit videos.

Tolson had apparently been using several social media accounts to build a relationship with the teenager. During their encounters, Tolson would chat to and "groom" the boy, reports NY Daily News.

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

“This is a warning for all parents to monitor their children’s social media,” said the Gardendale Police Department in a statement posted on its Facebook page. “Tolson was following everything this family was placing on various social media sites.”

Tolson was arrested and charged with solicitation to produce child pornography as well as solicitation to disseminate child pornography.

He is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail. A judge set his bail at $45,000.

Upon hearing the story, many readers took to Facebook to post their opinions on the matter.

“The world is at your children’s fingertips,” wrote one user. “Please monitor your children’s social media, protect them from monsters like this guy and worse.”

“Someone needs to wipe that smile off of his face,” wrote another user.
